UPIN – University of Porto Innovation – the knowledge transfer office of the University of Porto, has launched a new manual entitled “Best practices in the transfer of sustainable technologies to industry”. The manual focuses on best-in-class practices underlying technology transfer from universities to industry. A number of different innovation experts are invited to explain how their initiatives contribute to effective knowledge transfer. This manual contains contributions from MIT, University of Texas at Austin through UTEN Portugal , Fraunhofer, independent technology transfer experts as well as several companies and institutions which are involved in the technology transfer process.

The aim behind the publication is to raise awareness among a broad set of stakeholders – namely companies, science

and technology organisations and public bodies – to knowledge transfer activities and to encourage them to take up some of the best practices, with a view to supporting a more sustainable development.
