International Internships

With the support of the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), UTEN offers international internships on a competitive basis for technology transfer officers and managers:

• Training workshops in technology transfer at the University of Texas at Austin
• Three- to six-month internships working and training with UTEN’s international partners

The FCT’s 2010 call for Individual Specialized Internships in Technology Transfer and Commercialization is open through October 29, 2010.

This edition of the call is open both to professional Technology Transfer Officers and to PhD-level scientists and technologists wishing to develop skills in technology commercialization.

Recent examples of UTEN international internships activities include:

The August, 2009, workshops for TTO managers and staff brought teams from six Portuguese institutions to UT Austin for two weeks of intensive training with experts from around Texas.

Winter 2010 internship experiences placed three technology managers from Portuguese universities at technology transfer offices in Austin and San Antonio for mentoring in real-world working environments.
