9.20 / 11.30 – Marketing on early-stage technologies: reaching the market with campus technologies
Steve Nichols - Professor of the College of Engineering. Former Associate Vice President of Research at UT-Austin as well as founder and director of the Idea2Product Competition held annually at UT-Austin and focused on getting technology out of the idea phase and into a sellable, valuable product. He will be joined in the second hour by Bill Hulsey, JD- IP Law, Darius Mahjoubi, PHD- Action Business Planning, and Luis Medina, PHD- Director of TechBA Incubator for a U. Texas panel discussion.

11.45 / 13.00 – Financing early-stage technologies: how to get the money to reach the market
Laura Kilcrease, Founding Director of Austin Technology Incubator, experienced entrepreneur, and Managing Director of Triton Ventures, Austin, TX will lead the discussion with support from Texas team.

13.00 / 14.30 – Lunch Break

14.30 / 16.00 – R&D / Investors / Companies: a clash of civilizations?
UTEN Directors will open panel discussion with University of Texas and Portuguese speakers and on relationships between R&D organizations, Investors and Tech-Based Companies regarding the path from the lab to the market, and how to adapt other “best practices” into Portuguese reality.
