Universityof Aveiro – Technology Transfer Officer and Entrepreneurship Coordinator

Marlos Silva is a TTO and coordinator of Entrepreneurship at the UATEC – the Technology Transfer Unit from University of Aveiro. He deals with TT and IP issues, marketing of technologies, management of transnational programmes and the creation of new ventures and their financing. He also teaches at the Graduate Programme in the Entrepreneurship Lab and he is a facilitator in the Technology-Based Entrepreneurship Course.

Professional Experience- Marlos has more than 5 years of experience in tech transfer issues. He works in the valorization of knowledge created in University of Aveiro since 2006 through the management of entrepreneurial projects, entrepreneurship teaching, cooperation with companies and technology transfer. He is a former member of the IRC (European Innovation Relay Centers), from 2004 to 2006, where he worked as a Technology Transfer Expert. He was also a project manager at the Portuguese Innovation Agency (AdI). He is also a former member of the GAPI Project (Portuguese IP support network) in the field of valorization of IP results. Back in Brazil, he worked as an account manager and risk analyst at Caixa Econômica Federal until 2003.

Education- Marlos holds a BA in Business Management at the University of Pernambuco and a M.Sc. degree in Accounting and Auditory at University of Aveiro, with the dissertation named “Business Innovation: Investment and financing structure”.
