Miguel Moura
INPI (Portugal) – primarily, Miguel Moura is a patent examiner at the Portuguese patent office, besides being involved in a number of cooperations between INPI and universities and private enterprises to further the public knowledge of IP in Portugal.
Industry experience - prior to his discovery of the IP world, Miguel Moura was in several ways involved with the glass fusion and plastics injection molding industries.
Professional experience – Mr. Moura started his professional life as an intern at a glass plant before getting his degree. Afterwards, he worked briefly for the Portuguese Ministry of Science and Education on the Ciência Viva (Live Science) project. Afterwards he served as an intern on an international project (Portugal/France) in ITN (Lisbon) concerning ultra-high speed melt cooling materials processing. After the project deadline he stayed on for a research grant, and finally abandoned research by coming to INPI to work as a patent examiner.
Education – Miguel Moura holds a degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (Lisbon). He has extensive training in all maters concerning patent examination, both from INPI and the European Patent Office. He’s also interested in Quality Management, and has training as an Internal Quality Auditor.
Personal Interest - Miguel is a hobbyist guitar player and home studio owner. He also enjoys riding motorcycles or bicycles, inline skating, and quality time with friends and family.
