On-the-Job Training
On-the-job training is for institutions and staff who have participated in UTEN conferences and U.S.-based internships.
UTEN@Austin staff will work with you to assess needs and customize a plan for how we integrate into your office the lessons from UTEN training. We will implement those plans during an extended on-the-job training visit to your institution. We will also develop and publish a short case study that documents how on-the-job training benefited your institution.
On-the-job training can include: Researcher outreach, disclosure processes, portfolio assessment, technology market assessment, patent strategy, licensing, spin-off creation, entrepreneur engagement, industry outreach, office promotion and culture-change activities, and alignment of the office’s mission with the mission of the larger institution. We choose focus areas based on the needs assessment.
