Digital Media Sweep: 1-7 March, 2009

During the week of March 1-7, 2009, a team from the University of Texas at Austin will meet with digital media entrepreneurs in Portugal to offer expert feedback on products and business models and to share information on the resources available through UTEN.

Where we find a good fit for UTEN’s mission, we can offer UTEN Entrepreneur Training, including networking, market-based assessment, intensive mentoring and assistance in bringing technologies to the US.

We will meet with Portuguese innovators using digital media in a full range of applications: advertising and commerce; education and culture; film and television; interactive and mobile devices; music and sound design; online journalism; social media; and visualization.

The team will consist of digital media experts from the University of Texas at Austin who bridge research and industry experience.

Don Turnbull of the UT Austin School of Information is a consultant to industry in search systems, information architecture and design, informetrics and analytics as well as intellectual property research and development.

Bryan Sebok of the UT Film Institute and Department of Radio-Television-Film is a film producer with a focus on media convergence. He has taught his course on “Convergent Hollywood” in Austin and Portugal.

Prentiss Riddle and Jim Jarrett of the IC² Institute.
