Robert Peterson

Prof. Robert A. Peterson, Ph.D. Principal Investigator, UTEN

Robert Peterson is Principal Investigator of the UTEN program.

Dr. Peterson holds the John T. Stuart III Centennial Chair at The University of Texas at Austin where he has served as Associate Vice President for Research, chairman of the Department of Marketing, associate dean for research in the McCombs School of Business, director of the IC² Institute, and interim director of the Office of Technology Commercialization. He has published more than 170 books and peer-reviewed articles. In 2006 he was named the American Marketing Association/McGraw-Hill Irwin Distinguished Marketing Educator and received the Berkman Service Award from the Academy of Marketing Science.

Dr. Peterson is an erstwhile entrepreneur, having co-founded three companies. In addition, he has served on the boards of several corporations and nonprofit entities as well as an advisory committee to the United States Bureau of the Census and presently serves as the US Department of State PLUS-IP council. He occasionally testifies as an expert witness in litigation matters involving intellectual property and unfair competition.
