    KTO (Knowledge Transfer Operations)
From my reading of today’s presentations and discussions I guess the challenge we face s coming up with an efficient KTO that will enable the know-how and success of Austin to be transferred and used in Portugal.
I am glad we have a lot of TTOs involved because this should be something similar to what they are used to do.
I am not a TTO but from my experience in dealing with technology business I have the feeling that, despite some common tools, the different technologies or at least different areas of it should have different approaches and those are a lot of times dependent upon the parties involved.
I guess to be effective it would be essential to define what would be the scope of action pretended and what would be the goals.
    Scope:
What would be the kind of projects supported by the programme?
    Interesting technologies?
Technologies that can became new ventures?
Companies with technologies of interest to other companies?
Companies with products ready to commercialize?

    Goals:
Identify potential US partners that can add value to PT origin projects. Namely, technology partners, finance sources, IP support etc
Support the market entry of PT companies with products in US market.
Create political recommendations that can lead to a change in PT environment regarding support of technological ventures.

These were the ones that came to my mind I am sure there are more.
What would be key to me would seeing these issues addressed will all the bluntness that characterizes the US approach as we were told today.
Look forward for a blunt and very fruitful day tomorrow.
