Tom Gardner

Tom Gardner consults as the President and Founder of BellaVentures, LLC. Mr. Gardner is working with several new ventures in the Biotech industry and does business development work for the University Technology Enterprise Network of Portugal. He also is a guest board reviewer for the National Science Foundation and business analyst for the Global Commercialization group of the University of Texas. He is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Technology Commercialization at the University of Texas at Austin.

In 1987 Mr. Gardner joined Alcon Laboratories and spent almost 20 years with the six billion dollar pharmaceutical corporation then owned by Nestle. In those years Mr. Gardner had tenures in the R&D Process Development group as a scientist, in the Quality department as a Senior Analyst and in the Production/Manufacturing group as a member of management and as a technical training supervisor. Mr. Gardner moved to DPT Laboratories of San Antonio, a former subsidiary of Alcon. At DPT he coordinated the New Products and Process group and was a Senior Scientist reporting to the Vice President of R&D. In this position Mr. Gardner worked with many new ventures developing formulations, performing pre-clinical and clinical studies, establishing new processes and launching approved products. He has worked with domestic and international regulatory agencies on new product introductions for pharmaceuticals, over-the-counter medications and medical devices.
